James Flaherty, founder and partner at Flaherty Legal Group, was recently recognized with an AV Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell. The Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Rating is determined by other members of the bar and the judiciary and reflects a combination of achieving a very high general ethical standards rating and a legal ability numerical rating of the highest level of professional excellence.
The General Ethical Standards rating denotes adherence to professional standards of conduct and ethics, reliability, diligence and other criteria relevant to the discharge of professional responsibilities. Those lawyers who meet the “Very High” criteria of General Ethical Standards can proceed to the next step in the ratings process – Legal Ability.
Legal Ability ratings are based on performance in five key areas, rated on a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being the highest. The areas include Legal Knowledge, Analytical Capabilities, Judgment, Communication Ability and Legal Experience. Attorney Flaherty’s rating of 4.7 out of 5 merits the AV Preeminent honor, a significant rating accomplishment and a testament to the fact that his peers rank him at the highest level of professional excellence.
The three available Martindale-Hubbell Certifications are: AV Preeminent, which represents the highest rating possible; BV Distinguished for excellent lawyers with some experience; and Rated, which demonstrates that the lawyer has met the very high criteria of general ethical standing.
Flaherty Legal Group is proud to be home to not one, but two attorneys who have received the prestigious AV Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell. Attorney Pamela Magnano was also recognized with an AV Preeminent rating.
“I am honored to have been recognized by Martindale-Hubbell with this AV rating, and I am thankful to my peers in the Connecticut Bar and Judiciary for the vote of confidence,” said Mr. Flaherty. “My partners and staff work very hard striving for the best possible outcomes for our clients. We do so with the utmost respect and adherence to the law and to the rules of ethics which govern our profession.”
