“Technology risk comes at CPAs from numerous angles, be it from inadequate or improper data backups to malicious Internet users looking to profit by stealing and using customer or employee data,” said Neil Matchan, Director of IT, InterDev.
(PRWEB) July 18, 2014
InterDev, a leading provider of information technology and security services, today announced that Director of Information Technology Neil Matchan will be a guest presenter at the Georgia Society of CPAs (GSCPA) Technology Conference on July 25, 2014. Matchan’s presentation, “Risky Business,” will focus on technology risk and its impact on a CPA’s business.
“Technology risk comes at CPAs from numerous angles, be it from inadequate or improper data backups to malicious Internet users looking to profit by stealing and using customer or employee data,” said Matchan. “For the presentation, I will be discussing how CPAs can identify those risks and take a proactive security posture, thereby mitigating the threat of intrusion and the financial and professional damage that can ensue. Many small business owners such as CPAs don’t realize that even adopting “IT 101” basics can go a long way towards protecting their firms.”
The conference, which will be held at the new GSCPA Training Center in the King Building on Concourse Parkway in Sandy Springs, GA, represents the second time Matchan has been invited to present by the GSCPA. The conference will also be available via LiveStream, enabling GSCPA members to attend virtually.
“Attendees for this conference are from all areas of the CPA profession; they are interested in how and what technology can help improve their job function and their organization,” said GSCPA Conference Manager Maria Coxwell. “Matchan’s presentation at last year’s Governmental A&A Conference was well received, and we thought he would be the perfect speaker for our Tech Conference.”
