Fortis Teams up with Enduro to Take First Place at the Bakken Rocks! CookFest 2014
(PRWEB) July 18, 2014 -- “It was a great opportunity to reach out to the public and meet up with our fellow oil industry people to promote strong community ties in the region,” said Eddie Shelton, V.P. of Business Development for Fortis. “We had the opportunity to give back to the residents of the area in which we work who have supported our efforts. Plus, we teamed up with our great friends at Enduro Operating and together we brought home the first place award.”
Local business man Kevin Schroeder was the “chef extraordinaire” who helped the Fortis/Enduro team by preparing prime rib using his secret recipe to make exceptionally tender sliced prime rib sandwiches. “I think this event is a great opportunity for the folks in the community to meet with the oil industry people and everyone wanted the prime rib sandwiches,” he said.
Molly Lee and Paulette Vedvik, both Field Administrators for Enduro helped to serve up the sandwiches sliced fresh on the spot. “They were hot and juicy on a homemade bun and everybody loved them,” Molly said. “They kept coming back for more!”
The CookFest is a community outreach event sponsored by NDPC held in two communities, Kenmare and Dunn Center North Dakota. The events are an opportunity for the industry to give back to the local residents while they learn more about the industry and the companies operating in their area. The CookFest included a Bakken Basics Education session, live entertainment and the BBQ competition served by industry CookTeams.
“The event was a great experience to get to meet the people in the area,” said Adam Pomichowski, Fortis Business Analyst who came from the Michigan corporate headquarters to participate in the event. “I enjoyed teaming up with our partner Enduro and the prime rib was a big hit. I’m sure not a single person left the event hungry!”
