Sierra Nevada Corporation Awarded Second Phase Contract to Aide Pilots in Degraded Visual Environments

The United States Special Operations Command Technology Applications Contracting Office awarded Sierra Nevada Corporation (SNC) a task order for the next phase under an Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract for SNC’s Degraded Visual Environment Pilotage System (DVEPS).

The United States Special Operations Command Technology Applications Contracting Office awarded Sierra Nevada Corporation (SNC) a task order for the next phase under an Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract for SNC’s Degraded Visual Environment Pilotage System (DVEPS).

SNC was awarded the contract and a task order for the initial phase following a successful ground test of its DVEPS at the Yuma Proving Grounds in Arizona in late April 2014, competing against two other companies. The order is the second phase of a competitive, three phase IDIQ contract including Integrated System Development/Demonstration, Low Rate Production and Qualification Testing. The second phase will begin with the initial Integrated System Demonstration in July 2014.
