Ticket Down is an affordable source for Paul McCartney tickets at Petco Park in San Diego. For more than five decades, Liverpool, England, native Paul McCartney has been wowing fans around the world with his music. As a solo artist and as a key member in The Beatles and Wings McCartney has written or co-written more than 30 songs that have reached the top of the Billboard singles charts in the United States.
The popular performer still enjoys performing live for his fans, and at the age of 72, is currently touring across the United States on the “Out There” tour. The tour is taking McCartney to many cities for the first time and back to cities he has performed in dozens of times including Kansas City, Mo.; Los Angeles, Calif.; San Francisco, Calif.; New Orleans, La.; Dallas, Texas; Atlanta, Ga.; and San Diego, Calif. The latter city will see McCartney play at Petco Park as part of the venue’s 10 year anniversary celebration.
Petco Park is the home of the San Diego Padres from Major League Baseball. The venue originally opened 2004 and has been home to multiple memorable events and moments including being the host of Comic-Con International since 2010. The ball park has also hosted several popular musical acts including Madonna, Avicii, Deadmau5, and others. McCartney will play here on Sept. 28 and will look to see more than 40,000 fans in the crowd when he takes the stage.
McCartney has received numerous awards and accolades during his career. Among the most prestigious include being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a solo artist, and being knighted by the queen in England for all his services to the music business.
When McCartney first became a known commodity in the music business, it was along with Ringo Star, John Lennon, and George Harrison. That group was The Beatles and they took the world by storm and became one of the most influential groups of all time. McCartney and Lennon didn’t just enjoy performing together on stage, as the duo has long been considered one of the best writing partners in the history of music.
The Beatles single, “Yesterday,” is one of the most covered songs of all-time and this song, and many others from their catalog together will hopefully be performed at Petco Park. Those songs include, “Maybe I’m Amazed,” “Ticket to Ride,” “I Want to Hold Your Hand,” “Eleanor Rigby,” “A Day in the Life,” “Penny Lane,” “Hey Jude,” and “Strawberry Fields Forever.”
Fans in attendance at Petco Park in San Diego on Sept. 28 will also hope to hear McCartney perform many of his other hits, plus music from his most recent 2013 release, New. He has released two singles off that album, “New,” and “Queenie Eye,” and will look to promote this album throughout the tour.
