Liberty Township, OH (PRWEB) July 20, 2014

Vista Verde Golf Club in Liberty Township, Ohio, today announced the July 26 grand opening of FootGolf, in which players kick a soccer ball to advance on a traditional golf course.

“We welcome everyone to come join the fun,” said Roger Fields, FootGolf clubhouse coordinator at Vista Verde Golf Club. “Think soccer mixed with some golf and having a great time outdoors with friends and family.”

FootGolf is fun, exciting, competitive, and good exercise. Many players have commented that they enjoy the game because it blends the strategy and outdoor experience of golf.

Vista Verde, which is open to the public, will host a free FootGolf grand opening event from 4 p.m. to closing on Saturday, July 26. To commemorate the opening, greens fees for all players are free, and there will be drink specials.

Specially designed FootGolf holes are placed about 80 yards apart throughout the course. Play begins at about 4 p.m. each evening and takes about two hours to complete an 18-hole round.

Club managers have designed the FootGolf hole placement so that there is no interference between the new game and traditional golf play. Players receive instruction how to keep both types of rounds moving.

FootGolf has been gaining in popularity in the United States, with more than 130 courses now hosting the sport. The game has been popular in Europe for a few years.

Club managers said they expect FootGolf will be very popular following the high interest in the FIFA World Cup soccer tournament.

FootGolf is also a very affordable pastime. Greens fees for walking players are just $15 for 18 holes, and $10 for nine holes. There are additional discount for juniors and seniors. Players are asked to call the club at (513) 868-6948 for a tee time.

Vista Verde Golf Club also hosts FootGolf events for groups, fund raising, and other occasions.
