Mexican American Vintners Association Enters Retail Scene with Whole Foods Market Partnership
Napa, CA (PRWEB) July 24, 2014 -- In an effort to educate California wine lovers about the variety and quality of wines made by Mexican-American winemakers in the region, the Mexican American Vintners Association (MAVA) is breaking into retail. During the months of August and September, Whole Foods Market’s Northern California and Reno stores will highlight wines crafted by select MAVA members. Never before has a retailer of any size focused specifically on wines produced by Mexican-American vintners.
Tom Bracamontes, president of Total Brand Alliance [TBA Napa, Inc.] says: “This is history in the making. I applaud Whole Foods Market for being the first retailer to implement a program that recognizes the high quality of wines being produced by Mexican-American vintners.”
The wines that will be featured at Whole Foods Market stores include:
2013 Maldonado Vineyards Pinot Gris, Napa Valley
2012 Renteria Chardonnay, Los Carneros, Napa Valley
2011 Robledo Seven Brothers Red Blend, North Coast
2010 Volcan Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley
Mary Guiver, wine buyer for Whole Foods Market in Northern California, says: “These wines have universal appeal, drawing the interest of both Hispanic consumers and anyone who appreciates an American Dream story and excellent wine. We are proud to feature them in our stores and launch a long-standing partnership with MAVA.”
Rafael Rios, president of the Mexican-American Vintners Association, says: “The bottom line is that the association’s members are producing excellent wines, uniquely positioned to reach a vast and growing sector of the market. Those who understand the potential impact that these wines can have on the market, like Whole Foods Market, will benefit along with our members and the community.”
