Pittsburgh, PA (PRWEB) July 28, 2014
The Forbes Funds, a Pittsburgh-based foundation dedicated to nonprofit capacity building, is pleased to announce the launch of Nonprofit Spaces, a free web service designed to help Pittsburgh area nonprofits advertise their vacant space for rent or purchase, and expedite their search for culturally appropriate, location-friendly real estate.
Meeting the unique needs of the region's nonprofit organizations, Nonprofit Spaces allows users to search for properties based on property traits desirable to nonprofits, including proximity to public transportation, food service facilities, playgrounds and gymnasiums, and more.
Nonprofit Spaces is designed to reduce the time it takes nonprofit organizations to sublease or sell properties, find appropriate space, and promote short-term or daily meeting spaces. Nonprofits, as well as commercial businesses, entrepreneurs, start-ups and real estate agencies can also post listings. The service is free for all users.
Nonprofit Spaces “cuts down on the time spent on the initial search, so we connect nonprofits expediently to the appropriate property, and nonprofits who have property or meeting spaces can connect to a motivated customer base more quickly,” said Kate Dewey, president of The Forbes Funds.
Nonprofit Spaces is the product of a discussion between The Forbes Funds and over 100 nonprofit organizations, during which participants shared their frustrations in locating suitable office space. In the room, several connections were made, indicating that a real estate website would be invaluable to Pittsburgh nonprofits.
