While IGT’s Wheel of Fortune remains the top performing leased slot machine, Aristocrat was the clear market share gainer among the Big 5 suppliers during the second quarter, according to the proprietary Eilers-Fantini Quarterly Slot Survey.
Aristocrat ship-share grew 10 points above its 12-month trailing average to 17 percent.
Aristocrat also enjoyed a net gain of 161 leased units. It was the second straight quarter of outperformance.
Bally was next in improvement, with its 18 percent share—a gain of 4 points—and 98 more leased games.
IGT, on the other hand, continued to suffer low share with its industry-leading 29 percent share down 11 percent from its 12-month average and a net decline of 229 leased games.
Non-Big 5 vendors continue to take market share in N. America with survey participants purchasing 14% of games from non-Big 5 vendors during the qtr. Key suppliers gaining ground include Multimedia Games, Aruze, and Ainsworth.
The industry’s largest gaming equipment trend survey once again attracted record participation with 271 properties representing 32.5 percent of all North American gaming machines.
International participation also grew to a record, with 10 operators representing 93 casinos.
The Eilers-Fantini Quarterly Slot Survey is the most comprehensive report available on slot machine and technology purchasing trends. It covers trends and includes data on the entire industry, and is a valuable tool for casino operators, gaming equipment suppliers, and investors.
