Make Way for Ducks! Everyone's Shaking Their Tail Feathers in Excitement for This Fun, Annual Event Held in North Woodstock, NH
North Woodstock, NH (PRWEB) July 28, 2014 -- 2,000 rubber ducks will make their way down the Pemigewasset River during the Lincoln Woodstock Chamber of Commerce 18th annual (Almost Famous) Rubber Ducky Regatta this Labor Day. Locals and visitors to the area come together for this fun event taking place at Cascade Park in North Woodstock, Monday, September 1st from 10am-2pm.
Individuals or families can “adopt” a duck or a flock, give them names, then add them to the torrent of ducks that get released into the river. Prizes will be awarded to ducks that have the fastest “swim” time and those with the most creative names. Participants do not need to be present to win one of the amazing prizes which include attraction passes, gift certificates to local restaurants, overnight stays, and much more.
“This annual event has been going on for over 15 years and is one our community rallies behind” said Alyssa Yolda, Executive Director of the Lincoln Woodstock Chamber of Commerce. “It not only draws visitors to the area to support local businesses, but also acts as a fundraiser for the chamber’s scholarship fund, which is awarded to a graduating senior from the Lin-Wood High School each year.”
Along with the Regatta, there will be face painting, a DJ, and a balloon animal artist. For more information and to adopt a duck, visit http://www.lincolnwoodstock.com.
