Clinovo TechTrainings: Next Session of SAS and CDISC Classes Start 9th September, 2014
Sunnyvale, CA (PRWEB) July 22, 2014 -- The next session of Clinovo’s TechTrainings will begin on September 9th, 2014 and will comprise of the increasingly popular ‘Base SAS’ and ‘CDISC Standards: Theory and Application’ classes. The TechTrainings is a series of technical hands-on classes for entry-level to experienced clinical trial professionals, designed to help them reach the next step in their professional careers.
The 9-week Base SAS class is taught by Jennifer Kang, Senior Statistician at Genentech and former Senior Statistician at the Palo Alto Medical Foundation Research Institute. Ms. Kang brings over 10 years’ experience to the course which includes real-world case studies, enabling students to practice with clinical data. The course includes data set creation, logics and decisions regarding choice of statistical procedures, and interpretation of computer output. Each class is comprised of one-hour of theory, followed by hands-on assignments during a two-hour lab section containing case studies and exercises. No experience with SAS is required for the class, however basic computer skills are required and notions in statistics are helpful. All students are given access to the SAS software for the duration of the course to encourage practice between classes and to complete weekly assignments.
The ‘CDISC Standards: Theory and Application’ class is an 8-weeks technical hands-on class taught by Sy Truong, President at Meta-Xceed and author of award-winning papers. The class gives a broad overview of CDISC standards including ODM, SDTM, ADaM, and Define.XML. Students learn how to transform legacy data into CDISC clinical standards through case studies including data exchange, archival, and electronic submission to regulatory agencies such as the FDA. Increasingly required by pharmaceutical companies, understanding CDISC standards is becoming a critical skill to have for SAS programmers, statisticians, and clinical data managers. (Watch Video)
