Venture House and ThinkTank Team Up to Promote Smart Housing and Entrepreneurship in St. Petersburg
St. Petersburg, FL (PRWEB) July 23, 2014 -- Venture House is a nonprofit project devoted to making housing in central St. Petersburg more affordable for young entrepreneurs and artists. The organization and its founder, Frank Wells, have partnered with St. Pete-based digital marketing firm ThinkTank to produce a new website at http://www.venture-house.org to help get the word out about the rapidly growing project.
By refurbishing neglected St. Pete homes in clusters of 5-10 buildings, Venture House aims to act as an accelerator for local business while revitalizing homes and in turn, neighborhoods. To promote sustainability, Venture House aims for all of its renovations to maintain high energy efficiency standards, with upgraded insulation and windows, reflective roofs, solar hot water, high efficiency appliances, LED lighting, and home controllers.
“St. Pete has a lot of great resources, from our amazing weather to great waterfront parks, a fantastic arts and culture scene, and a lot of entrepreneurial energy,” says Venture House founder Frank Wells. “But as with many cities, houses and neighborhoods suffered in the economic downturn. Venture House helps revitalize them while supporting entrepreneurs and artists and growing jobs and culture in our community.”
ThinkTank produced a website for the new organization that will help both funders and the eventual occupants of homes learn more about the project. Designers from ThinkTank developed a unique logo and helped create video animations for audience development.
The new Venture House website launched on Monday, July 7. The organization plans to start local, revitalizing and providing services to St. Petersburg start-up developers and artists. However, Wells has noted that there are plenty of cities whose underutilized housing stock could be put to work improving the developing economy.
