Soho has a feel all of its own. These are the streets where Beethoven and Mozart composed, where the first television was demonstrated, where Karl Marx sat down next door, got drunk and wrote Das Kapital.

Soho is the best London location to visit for nightlife, according to a survey of the capital’s international students.
Research by Kaplan International English, a leading provider of English language courses, revealed that the multicultural area of central London is the most popular nightspot in the capital ahead of the likes of Camden and Shoreditch.
London’s top five places for nightlife:
- Soho: (37%)
- Leicester Square: (28%)
- Camden: (16%)
- Notting Hill: (8%)
- Shoreditch: (5%)
Steve Marmion, Artistic Director of Soho Theatre, said: “Soho has a feel all of its own. These are the streets where Beethoven and Mozart composed, where the first television was demonstrated, where Karl Marx sat down next door, got drunk and wrote Das Kapital.
“I think it’s the best place to have a theatre on the planet. We present the best in new theatre, comedy and cabaret across three spaces and have a fantastic bar to boot.”
