Corning, NY (PRWEB) July 24, 2014 -- Throughout the month of July, many updates have been made to Compliance Posters around the United States. Wyoming, New Jersey, California, Connecticut, and the District of Columbia have all made changes ranging from minimum wage and fair employment to OSHA standards.
Wyoming recently updated their OSHA poster to express the changed penalty amounts for OSHA violations, which can now be be up to $7,000. New Jersey revised the Fair Employment Poster to express that pregnancy is a new protected category. It bans employers from treating pregnant women less fairly than other employees who are not pregnant; this includes childbirth, medical conditions related to pregnancy or childbirth, and recovery from childbirth.
California and the District of Columbia have each made changes to their Minimum Wage Posters. The new minimum wage in California is now $9.00 for all ages while the price in D.C. has risen to $9.50 per hour. These prices are expected to rise throughout the next two years.
The District of Columbia also updated their Accrued Sick and Safe Leave Poster to show that employees can start accruing time when they are hired and can take paid leave after being employed with that company for 90 days.
Connecticut recently updated their Child Labor Law Poster to display the minimum wage change for the Mercantile Trades and Food Services. This poster shows the minimum wage update, which started on January 1, 2014, at $8.70 an hour. It will continue to rise in 2015, 2016, and 2017.
