“Extreme Weight Loss”: Cassie’s journey begins at the University of Colorado Anschutz Health and Wellness Center
AURORA, Colo. (PRWEB) July 23, 2014 -- The next episode of “Extreme Weight Loss” Season Four introduces a woman from Milwaukee, Wis. who was physically fit through childhood and adolescence. After becoming pregnant unexpectedly at age 21, she ultimately made the heart-wrenching decision to give her son up for adoption. That decision has haunted her for the past 18 years, and she punished herself by overeating, gaining nearly 200 pounds in the process.
Featuring a unique, non-competitive approach to weight loss transformations, “Extreme Weight Loss” airs TUESDAY, JULY 29 (8:00-10:00 p.m., ET/PT) on the ABC Television Network.
Cassie desperately wants to meet her son for the first time but she is ashamed to reach out to him before losing her excess weight. With her 40th birthday approaching, 347-pound Cassie will face one of the most turbulent years of her life. This episode documents Cassie’s year-long physical and emotional journey.
New in Season Four, each “Extreme Weight Loss” participant spends the first 90 days of his or her weight loss journey at the University of Colorado Anschutz Health and Wellness Center (AHWC) in Aurora, CO. Holly Wyatt, MD, medical director for the AHWC, also serves as medical director for the television program and is seen on the show each week helping participants safely lose up to half of their body weight.
