An editor for a building industry trade magazine who was shopping for a door for her own home, recently asked in a blog post, “How do you help consumers deal with the anxiety of making [door] purchasing choices?” Simpson Door Company’s new website is the answer to that question. Simpson designed the new simpsondoor.com to make it easier for people to find the ideal exterior or interior door for their personal tastes.

With the theme “DoorDiscovery: Follow the path to your door,” the new Simpson website provides a clear and simple set of steps to choose the perfect door. Simpson has also consolidated its online tools to aid in door selection, under the “Doormagination” banner. These include the popular “Test Drive a Door,” “Glass Taste Test” and wood species selector, all of which enable people to view the range of options available to personalize their doors, and to envision how a Simpson door will look in their home.

Another benefit of the new website is the consolidation of resources for architects and other design professionals. In addition to design tools, the site includes an educational library, 3D building information models (BIM), door specifications, test data and other resources.

“Because we offer hundreds of door designs available in more than 100 wood species and with dozens of glass textures and patterns, the range of choices can seem overwhelming,” said Brad Loveless, Marketing and Product Development Manager for Simpson Door Company. “We’ve made the door selection process more intuitive and fun, not only for our existing designs, but also for any custom door you can dream. Homeowners, architects and our dealer partners will all find something on the site to make their lives easier.”
