The Bayou Beer Society has been further classified by the IRS as a Public Charity for its work in reducing human suffering through donations to homeless veteran groups.

The Bayou Beer Society, Inc, received its not-for-profit designation having been recognized as a 501 c 3 Tax Exempt organization.

The Bayou Beer Society is formed to promote the art of Zymurgy (brewing beer), preserving cultural and historical beer recipes of South Louisiana, and promoting responsible consumption. The Bayou Beer Society has been further classified by the IRS as a Public Charity for its work in reducing human suffering through donations to homeless veteran groups. Contributions to the Bayou Beer Society are tax deductible under Section 170 of the Code.

The Bayou Beer Society is also qualified to receive tax deductible bequests, devices, transfers or gifts.

For the second year in a row, the Bayou Beer Society will host the regional, Bayou Beer Festival, Saturday November 15 at historic Southdown Plantation in Houma.
