Rich Dad Education Charity Yard Sale Raises Over $650 for Habitat for Humanity of Lee and Hendry Counties
Cape Coral, FL (PRWEB) July 23, 2014 -- Rich Dad® Education, a leader in financial education, is pleased to announce the success of their charity yard sale to support Habit for Humanity of Lee and Hendry Counties. Over $650 was raised and 100% of the proceeds will be donated to Habitat for Humanity. Additionally, all the items not sold at the event are being donated to the Habitat for Humanity ReStore thrift store located at 31 Willis Road, North Fort Myers, Florida 33903.
One of the highlights of the yard sale was a visit from Susan and Sarah Spring. The Springs are one of the 1,286 families in Lee and Hendry counties who received help from Habitat for Humanity to become homeowners. They shopped at the yard sale to show their support for the mission of Habitat for Humanity.
Rich Dad Education would like to thank all the people in the greater Cape Coral and Fort Myers area who supported the event by donating items to be sold and shopping on the day of the yard sale. We are truly grateful to live in such a caring and generous community.

Habitat for Humanity of Lee and Hendry Counties is celebrating its 31st anniversary as a chartered affiliate. It is one of the largest Habitat affiliates in the country, and has helped 1,286 families in Lee and Hendry counties become homeowners. Through the use of volunteer labor and donations of money and materials, homes are sold to the homeowners with an interest-free mortgage and monthly payments set at less than 30% of the homeowner’s income, making homeownership an affordable reality. Habitat homeowners must qualify financially for the program; save $1,200 toward their closing costs; attend a series of educational classes focusing on homeownership, budgeting and home maintenance; and complete 250 hours of “sweat equity” by volunteering at Habitat. It also supports Habitat for Humanity International by tithing a portion of its proceeds allocated to Habitat’s global fund, disaster recovery in Haiti and initiatives in Latin America and the Caribbean.
