HealthFair Identifies Significant Findings in the Population Health of Illinois
Orlando, FL (PRWEB) August 07, 2014 -- The Department of Analytics at HealthFair, the leading national health and wellness company based out of Orlando, FL, published the results of the state-specific population health screenings of Illinois. The data was summarized over 31 months from September 2011 - April 2014. The following preliminary results have been released:
Total number of patients screened: 16,914
Average age of patients screened: 61
• Overall, 57% had abnormal findings, ranging from mild to severe.
• 27% had abnormal EKG results. Of those, 15% were mildly abnormal and 12% were abnormal.
• 31% had abnormal echocardiogram results. Of those, 25% were mildly abnormal and 6% were abnormal.
• 11% had abnormal ABI results. Of those, 10% were mildly abnormal and 1% were abnormal.
• 42% had abnormal total cholesterol. Of those, 14% were high and 28% were less than 100.
• 31% did not have a primary care physician.
• 65% had not had a mammogram (women) or prostate screening (men) in the last 12 months.
