'(Home) Buyers today want comfort, health, dependability, durability and low overhead. These (Floral Avenue) homes will have it all and we are proud to help make it happen,' says Robert Schildgen.

On June 27, Robert Schildgen, CEO of Priority Energy, joined John McLinden, President of Streetscape Development and Skokie Mayor George Van Dusen for the Groundbreaking Ceremony at their Floral Avenue project. The ground breaking marks the second collaboration between the two companies in which they will build twenty custom homes according to DOE Builders Challenge performance requirements for superior comfort, indoor air quality, durability and energy efficiency.

Only 1% of U.S. builders are willing to take the Department of Energy’s Builders Challenge. The Challenge for builders is to create an attainable home with energy efficiency performance levels that will meet strict DOE requirements. Priority Energy’s expertise, combined with their high performance products can create homes that will perform above and beyond IECC 2012 building codes, exceed Energy Star 3.0 standards and meet the Builders Challenge requirements.

Priority Energy won the prestigious Builders Challenge award last year for their high performance home in Libertyville, IL and earned praise from the national media and housing industry experts, including Sarah Susanka, architect and author of the "Not So Big House" series and Sam Rashkin, the founder of the Energy Star program.

The package of Priority Energy’s services being implemented at Floral Avenue will include Tuff’n Dri, Warm’n Dri and EnviroDri Weatherization, Aeroseal Duct Sealing, and Lifebreath ventilation systems. In addition to the comfort and health benefits associated with these products, these homes will have utility costs that are 40-50% lower than those of a typical house. “Buyers today want comfort, health, dependability, durability and low overhead. These homes will have it all and we are proud to help make it happen,” says Robert Schildgen.

The downtown revitalization at Floral Avenue will be the largest single-family residential development built in Skokie in the last 15 years. Homes start at $465,000. For more information, contact Streetscape Development.
