Orlando, Florida (PRWEB) July 26, 2014
Uppercase, a monthly young adult subscription box, launched Monday.
Uppercase subscribers receive a YA book along with a book-related item like a bookmark or tote bag every month and access to an online forum with content related to that month’s selection.
The books are chosen by Uppercase founder, Lisa Parkin, who has been blogging about young adult books on her blog, Read.Breathe.Relax., and for the Huffington Post for three years.
“There are so many books out there, and it’s time consuming and difficult to find the really great ones,” Parkin said. “I’m constantly asked for book recommendations, and Uppercase is a way to help people discover the best young adult books out there.”
With several young adult books topping the bestseller lists, YA as a genre and as a go-to for movie adaptations. According to Publisher’s Weekly, five out of the top 10 overall bestsellers for the week July 14 are teen books.
“There’s nothing better than a reader telling me that because of my book review, they’ve found a new favorite author or series,” Parkin said. “I hope to do that on a larger scale with Uppercase.”
There are two Uppercase subscription options. For $29 a month, subscribers will receive a book hand-selected by Parkin herself. For $35 a month, Parkin will chose a book specifically for the individual who signed up, using a custom questionnaire to determine reading preferences.
Other items that will be included in Uppercase boxes are a hand-written note explaining the book choice that month, discount codes to popular book-related product websites and any extra items from the book publisher.
The first Uppercase box will be mailed August 25.
