Matthew Pollack, PE, has joined HNTB Corporation as a senior rail program/project manager practice builder and vice president for its Southeast Division. Pollack brings more than 25 years of rail, transit and project delivery experience in the eastern United States and abroad. He is based in the firm’s Atlanta office.
At HNTB, Pollack will provide engineering technical oversight for the design, planning, construction and quality control of rail transit projects throughout the southeastern region of the country. He will focus on building client relationships and growing the firm’s rail practice.
“Matt’s program management and previous rail transit industry experience in the region will provide invaluable insight as we expand our rail services practice in the southeast,” said John Parola, PE, HNTB’s East Coast rail leader and senior vice president. “It’s exciting to have a leader of Matt’s caliber working in his professional element while building our rail interests.”
Pollack comes to HNTB with a wealth of prior expertise from other large engineering consultants. His background includes working as a program manager with the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority.
“The growth of transit across the region underscores the fact that successful communities thrive when there is a healthy mix of transportation choices,” said Mike Inabinet, PE, Southeast Division president. “Matt joins nine other rail and transit experts hired by HNTB in the past year to help our clients locally and across the country tackle their transit endeavors.”
A professional engineer in Maryland and Pennsylvania, Pollack is involved in numerous industry organizations, including the American Public Transportation Association, the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and the Project Management Institute. He holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering and math from Carnegie Mellon University and earned a master’s degree in electrical engineering from Johns Hopkins University.
