Talbert Building Supply Donates Supplies for Habitat for Humanity Building Project
Durham, NC (PRWEB) July 27, 2014 -- Talbert Building Supply was proud to be a contributor to Habitat for Humanity’s 2014 “Builder Blitz!” As part of a national initiative among professional home builders, the Home Builders Association of Durham, Orange and Chatham Counties worked with Habitat for Humanity to construct three new homes in a Northeast Central Durham neighborhood.
During the week of June 7 - 13, volunteers worked together to build homes with Habitat for Humanity. Talbert Building Supply, a local construction supply and hardware provider, was one of the participants, donating most of the building supplies for one of the homes. Talbert Building Supply’s own Scott Talbert weighed in on the project:
“We feel like it’s very important to give back to the community and support such a great organization as Habitat for Humanity.”
About Talbert Building Supply
Talbert Building Supply has been in business for over 30 years, and their local roots run deep. The company’s beginnings in lumber manufacturing date back to 1937. Today, they have grown to provide a wide range of building products and services to home builders, remodelers, craftsmen and more.
As a family owned business, Talbert Building Supply is no stranger to developing meaningful connections with customers and communities alike. They opened their doors in Durham in 2004 and have been a landmark in the community ever since. Scott Talbert explained why it is important for a company to participate in their local communities.
“We are a family owned, independent business founded in 1983. We understand how important it is to support our local economies.”
It is expected that these new homes, constructed on vacant and overgrown lots will have an immediate positive impact on the community. In addition to the immediate impact on the three families using the homes, this project helps raise awareness and drive donations for future Habitat for Humanity projects.
“It was a true honor to be a part of making dreams come true,” Talbert had to say about his experience working with Habitat for Humanity.
