PROaupair Awarded Gold and Silver in Bay Area Parent Magazine's Annual Best of the Best for 2014
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) July 28, 2014 -- PROaupair, the only childcare agency specializing in placing professional au pairs, is pleased to announce it has won Bay Area Parent Magazine’s “Best of the Best” awards, receiving a Gold for “Best Special Needs Resource/ADHD Services” and a Silver for “Best Nanny Agency.”
“We are honored to receive these awards and would like to thank the San Francisco/Bay Area community for their trust in our program,” said Susan Asay (pronounced A-say), founder and CEO of PROaupair. "We are so proud of our au pairs working with host families, many whom have children with special needs. They are making such a positive impact.”
Since 2008, PROaupair has been placing professional au pairs with American host families throughout the Bay Area and the US. In close partnership with organizations like the German Red Cross, PROaupair hand-selects candidates with professional degrees and training to participate in the American au pair program. Holly Ruxin, a San Francisco host mom hosting a German au pair Sandra Trcak says, “Having a special needs professional au pair with a therapy background caring for my son Trevor makes all the difference for our family.”
“When you consider that hosting a professional au pair costs about $12 an hour, the savings to the family requiring professional childcare is huge. Plus, you have the flexibility of live-in care and the opportunity for cultural exchange,” says Asay. “Local nannies typically charge more than $20 an hour, not including benefits. Our business is expanding across the US as families are discovering the wide-ranging benefits of hiring a professional au pair.”
PROaupair’s professional au pairs have degrees from their home country in fields such as Pediatric Nursing, Early Childhood Education, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, Pediatric Nursing, Special Needs Education, Pre-School and Kindergarten Teaching. Au pairs can work up to 45 hours per week and live with their American family for up to two years. They are an excellent childcare option for families with multiple children, infants, and special needs.
