Jon demonstrates this lesson using the 6th interval using the hybrid picking technique by briefly performing the riff from Brown Eyed Girl by Van Morrison, which is one of the most recognizable riffs to incorporate the 6th interval. MacLennan continues by performing a piece of an original song he wrote called “lesson learned” which also incorporates this idea. Guitar tabs are available for this guitar lesson at GuitarControl.com.
A “riff” is the catchy part of a song that sticks in your head. One of the most recognizable guitar riffs of all time is “Smoke on the water” by Deep Purple.
