Canadian Digital Art School - Centre for Arts and Technology Has Partnered With RCC Institute of Technology to Offer Articulation to Interior Design Students
Kelowna, BC (PRWEB) July 29, 2014 -- Centre for Arts and Technology is pleased to announce that an articulation agreement has been reached with RCC Institute of Technology in Concord, Ontario. Articulation is the process of comparing course content between post -secondary institutions. This agreement will provide a simple and guaranteed transfer of course credits for Interior Design students looking to pursue a Bachelor of Interior Design (BID) once they have completed the Diploma of Interior Design (DID) from the Centre for Arts and Technology.

The RCC Institute of Technology’s BID program is an online program which enables students to pursue further education at any time and from any location, thus allowing them to work and “earn while they learn.”
The Centre for Arts and Technology Diploma of Interior Design program offers students an opportunity to prepare themselves for a multitude of career options within the field of Interior Design. This 24 month program covers a variety of design topics, including but not limited to: design theory + practice, 2D + 3D spatial planning, technical drafting in AutoCAD + Revit, building technology, universal design, human behaviour, millwork design + detailing, the business of interior design, the history of architecture and interior design as well as building codes and sustainable design methods. Design Studio projects focus on both residential and commercial spaces such as hospitality, retail, health services, and office design.
Upon graduation, and after the required work experience, graduates from the Centre’s Interior Design program, are eligible to write the Council of Interior Design Qualification’s NCIDQ Exam and/or take advantage of this new articulation agreement. The articulation agreement allows a pre-approved credit transfer from the Centre’s Diploma of Interior Design program to RCC Bachelor of Interior Design program. In compliance with Ontario regulations, a maximum of 72 course credits (roughly 40% of RCC’s BID program) is transferable to RCC Institute of Technology, however more credits are likely to be awarded on an individual basis following acceptance into the RCC’s BID program. RCC, which is a division of Yorkville University, is the only private educational institute in Ontario approved by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities to grant bachelor degrees.
This agreement is fully active as of June 3, 2014. The articulation offer is available to any graduate from the Centre’s DID program, including past grads, with the caveat that only current program content is eligible for articulation, so differences in past program content will require re-evaluation by RCC.
Choosing the Diploma of Interior Design program at Centre for Arts and Technology is a great way for students to prepare for entry level positions in the Interior Design field, without committing to a full four year program.

Centre for Arts and Technology delivers fully accredited certificate and diploma programs across a variety of arts and technology disciplines. The Kelowna campus features two contemporary recording studios and a film production studio, in addition to extensive digital video, photography, motion graphics, digital media, digital effects, fashion design, and animation labs.
