Greenberg Traurig Sponsors Barristers’ Club of Sacramento Summer Associates Reception
SACRAMENTO CALIF. (PRWEB) July 30, 2014 -- Greenberg Traurig, LLP, recently sponsored the Barristers’ Club of Sacramento’s 22nd Annual Summer Associates reception. In addition to honoring participating summer associates, a principal focus of the reception was to recognize law firm participants in the Sacramento County Bar Association’s Diversity Fellowship Program.
The Diversity Fellowship Program provides minority and disadvantaged law students an opportunity to work in a law firm between their first and second years of law school. This year Greenberg Traurig's Sacramento office hosted a program fellow from U.C. Davis School of Law. Angela Diesch, an associate in the Sacramento office, currently serves on the Diversity Fellowship Program board and is a previous program participant.
“The Diversity Fellowship Program is instrumental in encouraging diversity in the Sacramento legal market. Personally, I found the program to be life changing. It opened up a world of opportunities that I may not have had otherwise. Local law firm support is critical to its success,” said Diesch.
The Barristers’ Club of Sacramento, a non-profit organization and an extension of the Sacramento County Bar Association, exists to assist new lawyers with learning opportunities, networking opportunities, public service opportunities, and entertainment.
“These kinds of events are vital to the legal community and are particularly significant to the current generation of aspiring lawyers,” said Jeffrey Leacox, Co-Managing Shareholder of the firm’s Sacramento office.
