Cinsay, the global leader in social video eCommerce syndicatable technology for web and mobile, has been granted a strategic U.S. patent for ‘Method and System for Generation and Playback of Supplemented Videos’, No. 8,813,132. The IP technology is another component to Cinsay’s Smart Store™ platform as it relates to ‘hot spotting’ items inside a video and makes objects interactive with the viewer. This newest patent is one of many other patents for Cinsay’s video eCommerce technology, which enable merchants to sell directly to consumers inside a video player.
Cinsay continues to grow its portfolio of intellectual property and pending patent applications that are key components to Cinsay’s business model of hosting and delivering sharable, syndicatable videos in social networks with built-in eCommerce, donations, couponing and lead generation features.
“This unique patent is critical to our core business of delivering quality video commerce solutions. The patent outlines the technology of ‘hot spotting’ or highlighting a specific item or part of the video which can be interactive – specifically as a product, service or brand allowing viewers to view and purchase instantly inside the video without being linked out and away from the media experience” said Christian Briggs, founder and CEO of Cinsay. “The capacity to hot spot objects inside a broadcast and syndicatable video is huge. Given how many movies, television shows, sporting events and webcasts feature branded products, providing viewers the ability to buy any of those as they are viewing is the ultimate ROI for advertisers,” Briggs added.
“Watch. Shop. Share” is the theme of Cinsay’s technology, and it sets the stage for the company’s prioritizing, developing and evolving ecommerce technologies that create the next stage in commerce. The general technology described in the new patent addition, which is part of this next stage, is highlighted in this abstract at Google Patents.
Patent No. 8,813,132 for an “METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR GENERATION AND PLAYBACK OF SUPPLEMENTAL VIDEOS” discloses the use of hotspots within a video program. A listing of products/services related to the video can be presented in a shopping cart or payment interface, and multiple controls are provided for controlling which hotspots can be selected based on the categories of the hotspots.
Cinsay continues to develop software and technology, which is leading next-generation ecommerce, transactions, interactions and social media for businesses and nonprofits.
