Nativelead Foundation Paves the Way for Madurai Man to Become First Professional Angel Investor
Madurai, Tamil Nadu (PRWEB) August 01, 2014 -- C.R. Venkatesh, CEO of Dot Com Infoway and Co-founder of Magzter Inc. has joined the Indian Angel Network (IAN), the biggest angel investors network in South Asia. He says that the innumerable ideas being generated from this region and their inability to scale greater heights due to the lack of financial support had made him go for this alternative asset class, where people invest in the ideas of entrepreneurs rather than going for conventional assets like gold, real estate and the stock market. “Ideas are everywhere and many times it is too late for these ideas to be turned into reality, because of lack of funds. I want to help entrepreneurs realize their dreams,” he said. Thus Venkatesh becomes the first professional angel investor from Madurai.
Recently NativeLead Foundation associated with Indian Angel Network (IAN) to introduce angel investments for start-ups in Tier II and Tier III regions. With the recent union budget focusing on entrepreneurship and start-ups, angel funding is a much-needed form of financial aid to take entrepreneurs to the next level.
Angel funding usually goes for investments of Rs. 30 lakhs and above, but most start-ups and the ideas of students in this region require smaller amounts ranging from Rs. 3-20 lakhs. To facilitate this, the NativeLead Foundation is contemplating starting a local investment network called the Native Angels Network.
The fact that a person from Madurai has opted for this alternative asset class with a vision of helping start-ups would definitely be a boost for the creation of an entrepreneurial ecosystem which is the need of the hour.
