Local Travel Companies and American Metal Roofs Help Feed 190 Families in Need
Flushing, Michigan (PRWEB) July 30, 2014 -- Companies Feeding Families is a community outreach program started by Frank Farmer, founder of American Metal Roofs (AMR) in Flint Michigan. Farmer began this program with the goal of enabling companies to share the blessings of their successes by feeding those in need.
Last week, Cornerstone Community of Church, Flushing Community Church of the Nazarene and sponsoring organizations, Superior & Frankenmuth Travel Service purchased a truck load of food and personally participated in the distribution of food to scores of local families.
The food Giveaway was held at Meadowbrook Manor located at 7280 West Mt. Morris Road in Flushing, Michigan on July 23rd. Distribution started at 10 Am and was complete by noon. Over 12,000 pounds of food was distributed to close to 200 families. These meals fed approximately 600 people in need of assistance.
“Participating in the Companies Feeding Families was an incredible experience. This event allowed the staff of our company to grow closer together while helping those in need. n one-hand, it was quite difficult to see that there is such need right in our own back yard, but on the other-hand very gratifying to know that our participation fed 190 families. We look forward to doing this again.

The distribution team, comprised of AMR owner, Frank Farmer, Superior & Frankenmuth Travel Service executive John Schmitt Jr., employees of the sponsoring companies and members of Cornerstone Community Church, set up tables in the distribution area, unpacked pallets of food, sorted food, distributed food to attendees as they moved through the distribution line, and participated in tear-down and clean-up.
