Gravity Payments Announces Giving Campaign With Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma
Oklahoma City, OK (PRWEB) August 01, 2014 -- Gravity Payments, a company that provides Oklahoma community businesses the ability to accept credit card payments, announced today it is launching a donation campaign to raise funding for the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma, the state's largest private hunger relief organization.
Beginning August 1st, Gravity Payments is donating $100 to the Regional Food Bank for every new customer through October 31, 2014. In addition, for every referral an existing customer provides, Gravity is donating an extra $50. Gravity Payment’s goal is to raise over $5,000, which will provide more than 25,000 meals to feed Oklahoma's hungry.
“The Regional Food Bank provides enough food to feed more than 90,000 Oklahomans a week, yet it is still not enough,” said Rodney Bivens, executive director of the Regional Food Bank. “We are thankful for this partnership, which will ensure that our neighbors don’t go home to empty cupboards this summer.”
According to the Regional Food Bank, 675,000 Oklahomans struggle with hunger daily, and one in four children in Oklahoma will go to bed hungry.
“The Regional Food Bank was a natural choice to partner with because of the overwhelming positive feedback we've received from our local customers about them,” said Oklahoma Gravity team member, Mark McDevitt. “We also feel hunger is an especially serious issue in the state of Oklahoma, one that we feel needs more attention.”
Dan Price, Founder and CEO of Gravity Payments said, “Without the support of local communities, we wouldn't be where we are today. This is a small way for us to give back to our Oklahoma communities who have given us so much.”
Community businesses choose Gravity Payments to eliminate much of the confusion, headaches, and fees associated with accepting credit card payments. The company also is a champion of small business entrepreneurship, investing funds into community businesses through their working capital program, and regularly providing educational resources for business owners.
