Newport, RI (PRWEB) July 30, 2014 -- It’s that time of year again. Feel the “Island Spirit” at the 16th Annual Newport Storm Luau to Benefit Fort Adams Trust. The event will be held at the beautiful Fort Adams State Park in Newport, RI on Saturday August 16th from 4:30pm – 10:00pm.
Taylor Butzbach notes, “The Luau has teamed up again with WBRU 95.5 to feature fan-favorite and exciting new acts for this fun day. This year you’ll enjoy ‘The Rare Occasions,’ 2014 WBRU Rock Hunt winners, and semi-finalists ‘Smith & Weeden.’ Both bands are well known throughout New England, performing all over Massachusetts, Rhode Island and New Hampshire. And I know all of you Luau veterans will be glad to see Napua O’Polynesia Polynesian dancers come back. You’ll also be mesmerized by The Fire Gypsy, who comes on stage after the sun sets.”
Newport Storm will be providing a variety of beer, along with assorted Thomas Tew Rum cocktails. The drinks will pair with the food and tasty treats from local food vendors. The Luau also welcomes returning and first time Sponsors- Print Media Sponsor: Motif Magazine, JFA Security, Eastern Ice, Barritts Ginger Beer and Soft Drink Sponsor: Walgreens.
Taylor also reminds everyone to, “Enjoy the Game Pavilion and dancing! Don’t dance? Take a free tour around Fort Adams to see all the history and get an exclusive peak inside the walls. Or just kick back and enjoy the fun. Make sure to visit the merchandise vendors and join in on the raffle to win some awesome prizes.”
Luau attendee, Jeff Winchell says, “The Luau brings a great experience between the Fire Gypsy, Polynesian Dancers, Newport Storm and the local food vendors. All of that at the historic and beautiful Fort Adams State Park cannot be beat. This is my favorite event of the summer because not only is it a blast to go to with friends, but it also feels great to know that the proceeds go to Fort Adams – a Newport staple.”
Advance tickets to the event are 50% off ($10); $20 at the door. Proceeds go to the Fort Adams Trust. Tickets are being sold online at http://www.newportluau.org or at the Fort Adams gift shop.
