Star Wars, Muppets Take Over Coney Island in Brooklyn
Brooklyn, NY (PRWEB) July 31, 2014 -- Brooklyn Cyclones promo game nights are heating up in August. A Star Wars Night and a Muppets Night are just two of the fun events that will help start the month off right. Come by MCU Park for giveaways, special offers and fun for the whole family.
On Saturday, Aug. 2, the first 2,500 fans in attendance for “Star Wars Night II” will receive a Padawan Pee Wee bobblehead featuring our youngest mascot in the form of a Jedi Apprentice. To purchase tickets, visit the Brooklyn Cyclones website.
Last season, the Cyclones held the first-ever Star Wars Night at MCU Park in front of a capacity crowd on Coney Island. It was such a success that it’s making a return for the 2014 season.
This year, the team will also be wearing one-of-a-kind Sithclones Jerseys on the field that evening, which will be raffled off to benefit local charities. The jerseys feature the emblem of the Sith Empire on the right sleeve, and has “Brooklyn” spelled across the chest in “Aurebesh.”
But there's still more! With the special "Star Wars Sleepover Package" fans get a field box seat for the game, access to a special meet-and-greet with characters from the classic film, and will be able to stay after the game for a family sleepover on the field at MCU Park. In addition, everyone who purchases this limited-edition package will receive a special commemorative T-shirt. Fans get all of this for just $25. Last season, the offer sold out quickly, so make reservations early.
On Monday, Aug. 4, Kermit, Miss Piggy, Fozzie, Gonzo, Animal and the rest of the gang will be heading to MCU Park as the Muppets take Coney Island. This evening will be made possible by Disney's "Muppets Most Wanted" coming to Blu-Ray Combo Pack and Digital HD on Aug. 12.
The Muppets will be performing numerous sketches throughout the game, providing prize packs for lucky fans, and even offering a private meet-and-greet for lucky fans selected at random during the game. Don’t miss this unique experience. Visit the Brooklyn Cyclones website to get tickets.
As part of the evening, the Brooklyn Cyclones will also be supporting the local charity Bay Ridge Cares, an organization of neighbors dedicated to making the community a better place by doing all the good they can, in all the ways they can, for as many as they can. A portion of each ticket sold will go back to Bay Ridge Cares.
The first 2,500 fans in attendance will receive a heart-shaped “Bay Ridge Cares” stress ball. As an added bonus, everyone runs the bases after the game.
The Brooklyn Cyclones are a short-season Class A affiliate of the New York Mets. The Cyclones play at MCU Park, in the heart of Coney Island. Last year, the team led the New York-Penn League in attendance for the 13th consecutive season and the franchise has welcomed more than 3,500,000 fans to the ballpark since its inception. The Cyclones have also advanced to the postseason nine times, winning a league championship in 2001 and a total of five McNamara Division titles.
