Mosquitoes-borne diseases are on the rise

With the threat of West Nile virus and other mosquito-borne diseases, it’s important for people to take the necessary precautions to prevent mosquito bites when spending time outdoors in the coming months.

West Chester, PA (PRWEB) July 31, 2014

Warmer weather is finally here and Philadelphia tri-state area residents are no doubt spending more time outdoors at Delaware and New Jersey beaches and Pennsylvania lakes and rivers. However, with increased outdoor activity, the public is at risk of becoming a meal for the deadliest animal in the world – the mosquito. As such, Green Pest Solutions and Green Lawn Fertilizing, a pest and lawn care management company servicing the Philadelphia tri-state area, is urging the public to take preventative measures to protect themselves and their families from lethal mosquito-borne disease like: West Nile Virus, Dengue Fever, Chikungunya and Malaria.

“Mosquitoes are emerging early across the country due to recent rainfall and an increase in temperatures,” said Tim Clowney, Service Manager at Green Pest Solutions. “With the threat of West Nile virus and other mosquito-borne diseases, it’s important for people to take the necessary precautions to prevent mosquito bites when spending time outdoors in the coming months.”

The Pennsylvania West Nile Virus Control Program does an incredible job displaying state-wide West Nile Virus statistics to help PA residents stay informed about positive West Nile Virus occurrences and how to stay protected with state-wide events. According to the PA West Nile Virus Control Program southeastern PA has been hit especially hard with West Nile Virus this year.
