The Law Offices of Saia & Piatt to Host Standardized Field Sobriety Testing Course in Columbus, OH
Columbus, OH (PRWEB) July 31, 2014 -- From Sept. 19-21, The Law Offices of Saia & Piatt, Inc. will be hosting a DWI Detection and Standardized Field Sobriety Test Student Certification Course. The event will be held at Hyatt Place Worthington in Columbus, Ohio. This three-day course teaches students the protocols that law enforcement officers use when determining whether a driver is intoxicated, and it also teaches students how to administer standardized field sobriety tests (SFSTs). By signing up for the course, students get a copy of the 2013 NHTSA Manual, which is the latest manual released by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. This training and certification serves as a highly valuable resource for OVI/DWI/DUI defense attorneys.
The DWI Detection and Standardized Field Sobriety Test Student Certification Course will be taught by Robert F. LaPier, who has earned recognition throughout the United States for his instruction of this course. According to the course’s itinerary, students will get to learn the three phases of DWI detection (Vehicle in Motion, Personal Contact and Pre-Arrest Screening). They will also receive instruction on how to perform SFSTs, and they will get to practice on “dosed” volunteers. At the end of the course, they will take proficiency examinations and written examinations for their certifications.
The course, which is worth 19.75 Continuing Legal Education (CLE) hours, is only available to first 25 paid registrants. Anyone who is interested in taking this course should contact The Law Offices of Saia & Piatt, Inc. at (614) 444-3036. Those who are signing up for the course can also reserve rooms at Hyatt Place Worthington by calling (888) 492-8847 and requesting the “Saia & Piatt” group rate (Group Code G-SAIA).
