Children’s Dental Center of New Hampshire was a proud participant at the recent WZID Neighborhood Block Party event held on June 24th at the Riley Field Complex in Bedford, NH. School was over, summer had just begun, and the children were out in full force on this day. Kids could be seen flocking the grounds, taking part in the various games, food and entertainment provided by the dozens of local businesses who had set up tents to showcase their products and services. “We love meeting new people and seeing our patients’ smiles outside of the office,” stated Doctor Andrew Cheifetz of Children’s Dental, recalling the feel-good vibe of the evening.

No strangers to smiling faces, the Children’s Dental staff was happy to welcome throngs of children to their booth. “It’s fun for us to get outside in the fresh air and let new people learn about how we can help them and create smiles for their children,” remarked Cheifetz. Dr. Cheifetz and his colleague at the practice, Dr. James (“Jim”) McAveeney, are both 2014 recipients of NH Magazine’s “Top Pediatric Dentist” award. Children’s Dental Center offers specialized dental services focused on the dental health needs of children usually up until their early twenties.

One of the more popular and entertaining activities at the Block Party was a contest hosted by the Children’s Dental team. For the chance to win a gift basket chock full of goodies, children were given the chance to test their paper airplane piloting skills. Each child was given a piece of paper to fold into the shape of an airplane; they were then asked to stand at a distance to “fly” (toss) the airplane through the open smile of the company’s “happy face” logo (which had been cut out). “Watching the kids make paper airplanes to throw at Bristles and Fred (the company’s two mascots) was an endearing experience. It’s nice these days that something so simple as a paper airplane toss can still hold kids’ interests,” said Cheifitz.

Appropriately, it was an evening full of smiles all around.
