On the surface the book is an epic and fun military adventure in a futuristic setting, but there are many more layers to the story for those who want the challenge of searching them out.

Doctor Who’s River Song better watch out! There’s a new female crime fighter in town.

Futuristic commander and warrior princess, Tarakia Sol, and her special team are humanity’s only chance of being saved from enslavement by a new species invading Earth from the Orion constellation. Caught in a time crunch, Commander Sol must rely on her enhanced powers, training and faith to stop a former angel from ruling Earth.

Lance Burton provides a unique approach to military science fiction in his new book “The Blood of a God.” Being a career warrior and crime fighter himself, he draws upon personal experiences for realistic action scenes. In addition to his experience, Burton transports his three-year-old daughter more than thirty years in the future to follow in his footsteps as the commander of Talon Squad, Tarakia Sol.

Burton ties in lessons throughout his book including encouragement of strong women; faith versus science and how they can be compatible; and how fighting for the good in the world can matter.

“Great storytelling doesn’t have to include sex and over the top violence,” Burton said. “On the surface the book is an epic and fun military adventure in a futuristic setting, but there are many more layers to the story for those who want the challenge of searching them out.”
