Wantable, Inc. (http://www.wantable.com), a leading ecommerce discovery service for makeup, fashion accessories, and intimate apparel closed a $1.5 million Series A funding round July 31. Investors include both Wisconsin and California-based groups. The investment will enable Wantable to expand its business and add a forth product category, fitness apparel, this September. Funding will also go towards technology, staffing, and in general, the funding will accelerate Wantable’s mission to build the best personalized shopping service on the Internet.
Wantable raised $800,000 in Seed funding in 2012 and has experienced rapid growth in its short two years. It has grown from just three employees in 2012 to 23 today and has also expanded from one product category into four product categories.
“Given our highly personalized category specific collections, we feel Wantable.com is well positioned to become one of the leaders in the personal styling space,” commented Wantable’s President Jalem Getz. “Like Trunk Club and Stitch Fix, we combine technology, personal service and the human touch not found at mass market online retailers like Amazon or QVC,” Mr. Getz added.
Founder and President Jalem Getz is no newcomer to startups. His last company, BuySeasons, initially raised $2.5 million and was sold to Liberty Media in 2006. When Jalem left BuySeasons in 2010, the company had annual revenue in excess of $165 Million.
