Ms. America 2014 Pageant Announces Panel of Judges
Brea, California (PRWEB) August 03, 2014 -- State and regional titleholders from across the United States will compete in interview, sportswear, evening gown and on-stage question and one will be crowned Ms. America 2014.
To determine who will be Ms. America® 2014, the following panel of judges has been selected:
Rita Mezrahi, Founder and Creative Director of Claire’s Collection, a couturier of glamorous evening gowns that have been worn by many celebrities in the spotlight – in music, film and television, national pageant winners and sports. These celebrities who have worn her couture gowns for their very special occasions, include Halle Berry (whose wedding gown was designed and created by Claire’s Collection), Cindy Crawford, Sandra Bullock, Julie Andrews, Aretha Franklin, Shania Twain, Emma Samms, Nicolette Sheridan, Donna Mills, Kim Cattrall, Diahann Carroll, and Dolly Parton to name a few.
From the world of Sports, John Brown from Compton, California is one of the biggest stars in bodybuilding. He won Mr. Universe in 1981 and 1982, and 3 Mr. World Championships. An entrepreneur, he has successfully launched his own women’s clothing line nationally and internationally called Velvet Stone. His motto remains consistent: “Work hard, out work the rest and pursue excellence.”
Tricia Dampier has been involved in the field of pageantry for over 27 years as a contestant, titleholder, director, emcee and producer. She was Mrs. Colorado 1989 and then became the director for the Mrs. Colorado pageant for over 10 years and received an award from the Governor of Colorado for her commitment to the community. Author of the popular book, “Some of My Best Friends Are Beauty Queens” she is a pageant business consultant and shares her secrets in both business and competition.
Effie Horning has been involved in pageants for over 20 years and has judged many competitions from local through international levels including preliminary competition for the national Miss USA Pageant. She has not only been crowned several national titles herself but owned and directed the Ms. World pageant for 8 years before it was sold to the current Miss World Organization. She has been featured in magazines and seen on many celebrity fundraisers and red carpets in Hollywood including the Oscars and Golden Globe Awards. An international philanthropist she has received lifetime honors from the President of the United States for her 17,000 + volunteer hours and over 30 years of Lifetime Volunteerism.
From the world of Entertainment, Steve Nave is an actor, TV talk show host, casting director, producer, and acting coach with the Actors Showcase. He is currently the host for the Actors E talk show. An actor, he has appeared in over 300 film, television, commercials and talk show appearances. Some of his credits include Last Ounce of Courage, the Long Ride Home, ER, Monk, The Young and the Restless, and many appearances on the Tonight Show. He will be seen in the upcoming films "Unbelievable!", Black Gold, Imaginary Friends, Six Gun Savior, He has cast over 40 films, more than 60 Televison shows and over 70 commercials. He enjoys sports, travel and helping others into the entertainment industry.
Vicky Lee is a speaker, mentor, leadership coach and author of Vision Boards: A Guidebook for Mapping Out Your Vision. She is known in executive circles as the CEO’s Secret Weapon. Her clients include Fortune 100 executives such as a former V.P. of Boeing and celebrities such as Samantha Khury, animal communicator and Saulo Ribeiro, 9-time world jiu-jitsu champion. She was on the cover of Success Magazine for owning Raw Energy Organic Juice Café in Berkeley, Ca. which was a legendary hot-spot in the community, frequented by sous chefs from Alice Water’s famous Chez Panisse, former President Bill Clinton’s favorite restaurant. Her café was featured in a Woody Harrelson film. In 2004, she sold her business and retired at the age of 27.
Jamie Rios is a veteran in the pageant industry for over 20 years as a director, judge, emcee and pageant producer. He has judged more than 100 pageants and is a sought after pageant coach. A bilingual school outreach worker he has received numerous awards including the Apple Award, Employee of the Year and Making Hope Happen Awards. He has 1 daughter, 1 son and 9 grandchildren!
Entertainment will include Crystal G Duffield who was Top 20 finalist for American Idol.
Scott Stewart is the host for the 2014 Ms. America® Pageant. Stewart has been entertaining since the age of 12 when he was cast on the television show Quincy with Jack Klugman. He has appeared in numerous television shows, including Melrose Place, Chicago Hope, The Singing Bee, and even performed on The Oprah Winfrey Show. Commercial credits include Big Lots, Mitsubishi, and Big 5. He has hosted for The Academy of Country Music Association, Bob Hope’s USO Show and Disneyland. Scot is currently the host and producer of the TV show What’s Up Orange County that airs on KDOC, Time Warner and Cox Communications.
