NFCR’s Play4theCure Announced as Official Charity of the National Field Hockey Coaches Association
Bethesda, MD (PRWEB) August 03, 2014 -- The National Foundation for Cancer Research’s Play4theCure has entered into a fundraising partnership with the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA). Going forward, NFCR is an official charity of NFHCA, providing robust resources and a recognized brand that enables NFHCA members to support cancer research, provide cancer prevention education, and early detection information to the public.
The new partnership will focus on integrating field hockey teams across the nation into the family of 500+ sports teams that already take part in NFCR’s Play4theCure. Every dollar raised by the Play4theCure sports-based fundraising program will be dedicated to cancer research projects selected by each participating team.
“As an official charity of the NFHCA, Play4theCure takes an important step forward as a leader in sports-based fundraising for cancer research,” said NFCR President Franklin Salisbury, Jr. “We are confident that this partnership will significantly bolster participation in Play4theCure, and also help grow NFHCA’s already impressive membership.”
The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) is a non-profit organization serving field hockey coaches and supporters of the game from across the United States. The mission of the organization is to stimulate the professional development of coaching leadership within the sport of field hockey. The NFHCA strives to cultivate and recognize the professional contributions of its membership and to foster and promote the growth of the sport.
“The NFHCA is excited to partner with NFCR’s Play4theCure in order to provide our members with the resources they need to motivate their communities to fundraising for cancer research,” said NFHCA President Andy Whitcomb. “The ability for teams to be a part of the impressive Play4theCure brand goes beyond sports and shows our coaches and their players the power of giving back. As a result of this partnership, I believe the entire field hockey community will join together and with a unified force make an impact in cancer research.”
Teams participating in Play4theCure receive branded and personalized support for their fundraising games from the National Foundation for Cancer Research.
