Processing Point's annual charity golf tournament, the Diablo Golf Classic, surpassed its fundraising goal this year with a grand total of $17,000 going to Point the Way Foundation.
"It really was our best Diablo Golf Classic yet, raising more then double the amount we did in 2013,” said Ryan Sebring, co-founder and chair of the Diablo Golf Classic. “We continue to grow this event every year. The response we get from everyone involved really shows that we are doing something unique and special. I am honored and very appreciative to be a part of such a great opportunity to share a fun day with so many wonderful people and for such a worthy cause."
The 7th Diablo Golf Classic was held Saturday, July 19, 2014, at the Twin Oaks Golf Course in San Marcos, CA. Since its inception in 2008, the Diablo Golf Classic has raised more than $30,000 for charity.
Chad Buckmaster, Processing Point CEO, said he is also honored to be part of this event and is proud to have surpassed this year’s fundraising goal.
“It’s great to see so many people come together and have as much fun as we do at the Diablo each and every year, and know that it’s all for a good cause,” Buckmaster said. “The Diablo began as a few friends getting together for a round of golf. To see how it’s evolved and to be part of what it’s turned into is humbling and exciting at the same time. We’ve always felt we could do something great with this golf tournament. Raising $17,000 for Point the Way Foundation is proof that we are on the right track with our purpose and intent.”
Buckmaster added that one of the reasons Processing Point has always sponsored and been involved in planning the Diablo Golf Classic is because of its goal to support the community and give back to those in need. This year, all proceeds from the Diablo went to Point the Way Foundation, a California 501c(3) that supports Military, Children and Community nonprofit organizations such as the Wounded Warrior Project, the Boys & Girls Club, Armed Services YMCA and Toys for Tots.
“I am honored to be part of this event and am thankful to all those who participated and contributed in some way to make this the best year yet,” Buckmaster said.
