ZCorum to Demonstrate Proactive Network Maintenance Tool at CableLabs Summer Conference
Alpharetta, Georgia (PRWEB) August 04, 2014 -- ZCorum, a leading provider of managed broadband services and diagnostics, will be demonstrating their PreEqualization Analyzer application this week at the CableLabs® Summer Conference in Keystone Colorado. PreEqualization Analyzer is a Proactive Network Maintenance (PNM) tool powered By CableLabs and enhanced by Nimble This. It uses pre-equalization data to locate upstream impairments in the cable plant, and can correlate that data to show which devices are likely being impacted by a common impairment.
Scott Helms, Vice President of Technology at ZCorum, will also be speaking at the conference about PNM in a panel entitled The DOCSIS® 3.1 Network. CableLabs Summer Conference is a private event for cable operators and demonstrating vendors.
In addition to their PNM product, ZCorum will be demonstrating a mobile app called RF Inspector that provides remote access to view downstream spectrum without the need to drive to the customer premises. The app, which is now available on Android tablets and smartphones, leverages the DOCSIS-IF3-MIB in newer cable modems and set-top boxes that allows for the capture of spectrum for all data and video channels directly from the CPE.
“We’re really grateful to have a robust standard like DOCSIS to work with,” said Helms. “It makes a huge difference as we develop diagnostics solutions for cable operators. I’m looking forward to presenting on PNM and DOCSIS 3.1, and participating in the panel discussion.” In addition to Helms, other participants on the panel will be Terry Cordova, Senior Vice President and CTO at Suddenlink®, David Hunter, Principal Architect at CableLabs, Jorge Salinger, Vice President of Access Architecture at Comcast® and Phil Oakley, Head of Access and Edge Architecture at Virgin Media. The session will take place during the conference on August 4th from 2:15 PM–3:30 PM.
