Peter Pan Flies Into Peppertree Park in Old Town Tustin
Tustin, CA (PRWEB) August 04, 2014 -- Airplanes won't be the only thing flying over Historic Tustin this August, according to the Tustin Area Council for Fine Arts (TACFA), whose 14th annual Broadway in the Park summer production will be the acclaimed Broadway musical “Peter Pan,” in cooperation with 3-D Theatricals.
This production will be staged in Old Town Tustin, at Peppertree Park, from August 19-23, 2014 and will, for the first time ever, feature actors “flying—live—through the night air,” right there in the park.
"This event is unparalleled," said Erin Kociela, Vice President of TACFA and 2014 Broadway in the Park chair. "The set is double the size of past years, the reinforcements to allow the flying are mind-boggling, and we couldn't be more excited," she said.
“We are simply thrilled to be taking Broadway in the Park to a whole new level this year,” said Bonny Atzeff, TACFA President. “The sets are spectacular and the special effects will “wow” the audience, young and old alike.”
Kociela offered that Anaheim-based 3-D Theatricals won the coveted Ovation award last year for “Best Musical” for their production of “Parade,” as well as four additional awards ranging from “Best Actor in a Musical” to “Best Ensemble in a Musical” and even “Best Puppet Design” for their production of “Shrek.”
“We are thrilled to have been asked to consult on what will truly be a magical production,” said T.J. Dawson, Executive Producer and Artistic Director of 3-D Theatricals. “It’s a very special show for us, as it was the first show that we produced when we launched our company in 2009. We look forward to bringing a little of our pixie dust magic to Tustin this summer. Audiences will have a night out that they won’t soon forget!”
“Peter Pan” is the musical based on the play by Sir J.M. Barrie, with lyrics by Carol Leigh and additional lyrics by Betty Comden and Adolph Green. The music is by Morris (Moose) Charlap, with additional music by Jules Styne. The original musical was directed, choreographed, and adapted by Jerome Robbins.
3-D Theatricals is a professional theater company that operates out of Fullerton and Redondo Beach and produces Broadway caliber shows year round. “We invite Tustin theater patrons to venture out to see what we are producing the rest of the year,” said Dawson, “and, of course, to join us for Broadway in the Park!”
