Nottingham-based digital agency, Distinction, have become the first UK agency to achieve the prestigious Microsoft Azure competency from Kentico Software.

Leading digitial agency, Distinction (http://distinction.co.uk) has been awarded its 5th Kentico partner competency for their expertise on the Microsoft Azure cloud platform. Not only is Distinction the only UK agency to have been awarded this competency, they are only the second to have done so worldwide.

“Choosing the right platform and infrastructure for a project is only a part of its way to success. The knowledge, skills and expertise of the agency that delivers it make the rest,” said John Swanson, Global Channel Director at Kentico. “With our partnership with Distinction, we know that end users of our product will receive the right advice and best implementation possible for their project.”

James Bloor, Managing Director of Distinction, is delighted with the achievement - “We’ve been working with Kentico since 2006, during which time we’ve created over 100 websites for a wide variety of clients, from global brands to bootstrapped start-ups. I’m tremendously proud of the team here at Distinction for achieving this latest competency, which is no mean feat. It has re-enforced our position as one of the top worldwide Gold Partners.”

Microsoft Azure is already used by 57% of Fortune 500 companies, enabling them to move faster, save money, and integrate on-premises apps and data.

In addition to Microsoft Azure, Distinction has also achieved the following competencies over the last 18 months:

  • Development and Integration - linking websites with third party systems such as Dynamics, Salesforce, Sage Line 50, and many payment gateways;
  • Online Marketing - to allow clients to make their sites more successful through split-testing, content personalisation and marketing automation;
  • E-commerce - helping clients to set up, manage and develop their web stores to sell their products and services online;
  • Mobile - creating mobile-optimised experiences.
