New Research from DoubleDutch Shows That Event App Adoption Has Reached the Tipping Point
San Francisco (PRWEB) August 04, 2014 -- Mobile event technology leader DoubleDutch today announced the early results of its new research on the proliferation and use of mobile technology in the meeting and event industry. Conducted in partnership with Meeting Professionals International (MPI), the research found that 63 percent of meeting and event planners are already using mobile applications for their events, and 60 percent of the remainder plan to use an app in the near future. These statistics suggest that mobile event applications have reached a critical mass in terms of use and popularity, and are now considered a necessary part of a successful event.

The new data comes from a survey of professional meeting and event planners across multiple industries, and represents the most up-to-date insight into the role of mobile applications in modern day meetings. The survey covered all aspects of event app use, from adoption to preferred features, and the reasons organizers purchase an app for their event. Early findings were shared for the first time at MPI’s 2014 World Education Congress in Minneapolis on August 3.
“We have been increasingly hearing feedback from our membership about the significance of mobile apps for the meetings and events they plan, so we determined it was appropriate to study usage and practices further,” said Christian Savelli, senior director of business intelligence and research for MPI.
