SPL International Selects Epicor Tropos to Support Growth

SPL International started life in a garage in 1992, with the vision to build an international business serving the home brew, commercial alcoholic and ethanol industries. Over the years it has experienced fantastic growth and expanded its operations – in the last six years its turnover has tripled to £6m and the company has consolidated its sites into a dedicated facility.

SPL International currently uses a combination of databases, spreadsheets and a popular financial package to deliver its business systems. This complexity along with a number of legacy paper-based systems is isolating key information, and stopping the business operating at the level of efficiency the management team believes is possible.
Set with the view to ensure its systems enabled, rather than hindered future growth, SPL’s management team decided to replace all its existing systems, including paper-based processes, with a dedicated end-to-end process manufacturing system. After reviewing a number of leading and specialist process manufacturing ERP solutions, SPL selected Epicor Tropos.
Epicor was cited as having all the functionality SPL needed out of the box including full financials, traceability, regulatory compliance, sales, inventory control and production scheduling. The new implementation is expected to help SPL improve its stock handling, and lower the cost of production, allowing the company to be even more competitive.

As part of the implementation shop floor staff will have direct access to Epicor Tropos through touchscreen devices on the shop floor, marking a significant improvement to the way they currently update systems. Members of staff will also be able to use mobile devices to query and update Epicor Tropos as they move around the production facility.
