Boulder, CO. (PRWEB) August 05, 2014
Enterprise Management Associates (EMA), a leading IT and data management research and consulting firm, today announced that Jim Miller has joined the firm as senior analyst in the area of storage. In this role, Miller will specialize in storage software, hardware and management solutions.
"With the increased adoption of cloud, virtualization, and big data technologies, the reliance on dynamic storage management has never been more pronounced," noted EMA Managing Research Director, Steve Brasen. "Jim possesses the knowledge and experience to help guide organizations though the challenges of enabling predictive and reliable storage solutions."
Prior to joining EMA, Miller was product manager of software and hardware for the storage server, archive, backup and recovery, NAS, object storage and virtual/physical tape solutions at SGI. Additionally, Miller lead the introduction of StorageTek’s second generation virtual storage hardware and software products, as well as defined and launched several industry leading SAN director switches and management products while at McDATA.
“It is no longer just about growth in storage but the diversity in the types of data and where that data sits in the information lifecycle that is the new challenge and opportunity for companies” said Miller. “Truly game-changing alternatives like the cloud, flash and the software-defined data center can address the demand in growth and performance from new sources such as mobile devices and other creators of unstructured and structured data.”
