One Week Bath, Heal the Bay and the Santa Monica Pier Aquarium Partner to Celebrate Milestone
Santa Monica, CA (PRWEB) August 06, 2014 -- One Week Bath is celebrating its 2000th bathroom remodel by sharing its success with Heal the Bay’s Santa Monica Pier Aquarium. One Week Bath is designing and rebuilding three bathrooms, including the two main public restrooms and the sole staff restroom.
“I am over the moon about reaching the 2000th bathroom milestone,” said Matt Plaskoff, Owner of One Week Bath in Van Nuys, CA. “We wanted to do something special to commemorate the achievement and make a donation that would have a big impact. When we called Heal the Bay and learned that the public restrooms of the Santa Monica Pier Aquarium needed help, we knew we found a great recipient.”
Plaskoff wanted to tie this donation to a cause he believes in. “I grew up in the area, went to Santa Monica High School, Santa Monica College, raised my kids on the Bay, and I surf – the health of the Santa Monica Bay is something I am very passionate about,” said Plaskoff. “Knowing that these bathrooms are going to serve millions of kids that come to the aquarium to learn about marine biology makes this one of the most meaningful projects in my career.”
“One Week Bath’s generous donation to remodel the Aquarium’s two public restrooms and a staff bathroom provide a much-needed upgrade to our facilities,” said Aquarium Director Heather Doyle. “The total experience for our visitors is important to us – and now that will include our brand new restrooms.”
The project is slated to take five days, starting Monday August 4, ending Friday August 8th. The crews are working in evening hours to minimize disruption to summer visitors. Materials sponsors include Daltile, Ferguson, Kohler, BY Marble, Wellborn, Dunn Edwards and Home Depot.
