MacLennan demonstrates the easy jazz lick in the key of G as follows; starting with a great jazz chord voicing of G13, 3rd fret of the 4th string with first finger, 5th fret of the 3rd string with 2nd finger, 5th fret of the 2nd string with 3rd finger and 3rd fret of the first string with first finger and by simply sliding this chord voicing up and down the fret board the note played on the first string completes the melody. The melody notes based on the first string are played at the following frets; 3rd to the 6th to the 8th and then sliding to the 10th and back to the 8th and then back to the 6th and then back to the 8th and finally back to the 3rd fret.
