Former Oakland EMS Division Chief Bill Sugiyama Joins Intermedix
Oakland, Calif. (PRWEB) August 06, 2014 -- Intermedix Corporation announced Wednesday that William “Bill” Sugiyama recently joined the Intermedix leadership team as a vice president of EMS client services.
Sugiyama will support Intermedix client partnerships with emergency medical service agencies throughout the West Coast.
Sugiyama started his career as an EMT and has approximately 25 years of experience in the EMS industry. Most recently, he was the division chief and manager of EMS for the http://www..oaklandnet.com/Government/o/OFD/index.htm [City of Oakland Fire Department __title__ http://www..oaklandnet.com/Government/o/OFD/index.htm], the 44th largest city in the United States. There, he managed more than 400 fire department personnel and 60,000 annual EMS responses.

Sugiyama also serves on a number of nonprofit boards, including serving as the immediate past president for the International Association of Emergency Medical Services Chiefs and is the secretary for the National Emergency Medical Services Memorial Foundation.

Sugiyama is a California licensed paramedic and registered nurse. He holds an associate’s nursing degree and bachelor’s degree from Excelsior College, as well as a master’s degree in homeland security with a concentration in emergency and disaster management from American Military University. He is also a graduate of the Harvard University, Kennedy School of Government Senior Executives’ State and Local Government program and of the Executive Leadership program at the Naval Postgraduate School, Center for Homeland Defense and Security in Monterey, California.
